The hosts eventually reached 356/7 in 48.1 overs, completing a three-wicket victory with 11 balls remaining. Virat Kohli and Kedar Jadhav were the architects of the chase, with both batters scoring centuries. After India were in a difficult position early in the innings, Kohli and Jadhav combined for a crucial 200-run partnership, shifting the momentum firmly in India’s favour.

India’s previous highest successful ODI target was against Australia on 16 October 2013 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Australia, batting first, scored 359/5 and set a challenging target of 360 runs for India. India, however, made light work of the chase and reached 362/1 in 43.3 overs, winning by nine wickets. Rohit Sharma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 141 off 123 balls, while Virat Kohli provided the acceleration at the other end.
Kohli smashed a century from just 52 balls, producing one of the most explosive ODI innings of his career. Chasing a mammoth target of 407 runs set by West Indies, India scored 406/2 in 43.3 overs and won by eight wickets. Ctain Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings while leading from the front and remained unbeaten on 223 runs, while his opening partner Rohit Sharma also scored a century and scored 101 runs. The pair put India firmly in control during the chase, allowing the hosts to reach the target with more than six overs to spare.
