Half-centuries from Shorna Akter and Sharmin Akhter helped Bangladesh claw their way to 172, scored by Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland in 23 overs for another one-sided win and a 3-0 series victory. Schutt opened the bowling and bowled his ten overs on the move, adding the wicket of century-maker Sobhana Mostary in the second ODI to finish with impressive figures of 10-5-16-4. She bowled the ball wastefully and didn’t get Bangladesh going at all.
Kim Garth also moved the ball and was unlucky to end up wicketless as she and Schutt bowled unchanged for the first 17 overs. Garth swung the ball in the right areas and pulled on the outside edge several times but got nothing into the wicket crevice. The ball swung sharply until about halfway through Bangladesh’s innings and the batsmen often had to look for it.
In the end, they had to score 50 runs in the first ten overs. As for the early wickets, Murshida Khatun fended off a debris striker and enjoyed the third over as Australia moved mainly to the fuller side with the new ball; When Schutt switched to bowling a bouncer, Sarmin Sultana hooked him at good leg in the seventh over; Schutt then asked one to straighten outside and Nigar Sultana sent it to the wicketkeeper. Schutt struck for the fourth time when Mostary pushed an inside player towards the gutter. But Sharmin had begun to calm down after the first few fluctuations.
She confidently powered Garth through four consecutive overs, ending the 16th over, but with Bangladesh going nowhere at 45 for 4, Sharmin and Shorna decided to play the waiting game. Both batters had some luck and managed to score occasional boundaries in the middle overs. But the run rate was never much higher than three years.
Annabel Sutherland bats at high pace, Australia v Bangladesh, 3rd ODI, Brisbane, October 14, 2026. Sharmin and Shorna’s 54-run stand for the fifth wicket – off 98 balls – ended when Sharmin, on 50, clipped Perry into the gully in the 34th over. After Ash Gardner struck soon after, it was up to Shorna to take Bangladesh to a respectable record. Garth, meanwhile, was even more unlucky.
Edge Art not at hand, a Mostary advantage in the 12th over had passed into Gully’s hands and now, in the 44th over, she thought she had her first wicket when she brought down Shorna, then on 42, in front, only for the decision to be overturned on review. On the next ball, Shorna went one for four between short third and point to pile on the frustration. Shorna reached her fifty in the 47th over and remained under 54 in the 49th over thanks to the nimble work of wicketkeeper Beth Mooney.
Although Mooney struggled at stumps, Sutherland bowled to a bouncer. Shorna went for a hook but missed, and Mooney, who collected the ball with a reverse strike, took away the balls as Shorna’s back leg came out of the crease. For an Australian team that had set targets of 167 and 221 at the start of the series, a chase of 173 would rarely pose a challenge.
However, Bangladesh got off to a quick start. Sultana Khatun tossed Georgia Voll 11 points in the second round while debutant Disha Biswas defeated Mooney with 21 points in the sixth round. Australian and Bangladeshi players pose together, Australia v Bangladesh, 3rd ODI, Brisbane, October 14, 2026. But if Bangladesh had been dreaming of a miracle at 38 for 2, then Sutherland and Perry quickly put those thoughts aside.
Perry and Sutherland hit seven boundaries between them in the next five overs as Australia countered, finishing the powerplay at 74 for all but sealing the deal. Both batters stormed to the target and peared to be in a race for their half-centuries. Sutherland got there first when she bowled Biswas in the middle of the game while running down the track on the fourth ball of the 20th over.
The shot underlined his dominance. Two balls later, Perry ran a single to also reach the marker. From 140 for 2 in 20 overs, the pair smashed out the remaining 33 runs in the next 16 balls as the boundaries continued to flow.
Sutherland struck 12 in his 74* while Perry struck eight in his 65*. After the game ended, some Bangladeshi players had their fangirl moments as they clicked pictures with their opponents. They will be fondly remembered thanks to their valuable experience in this field.

a slight outside edge and gone. Schutt has her third… and this is only confirmed after Nigar speaks to Sharmin and not revised.

Gardner bowls again and this time gets a wicket. Moni jumped up on this flying full ball and swung to the leg side, allowing Perry to make a comfortable catch even though he was a few steps outside the circle that had thrown it. That’s what experience can do, as King slows her down and changes her line and length to fox Rabeya immediately after she’s hit for four.

The off-stump was hit and King hit Alana King got her first wicket late in the innings, Australia vs Bangladesh, 3rd ODI, Brisbane, October 14, 2026, caught at good leg. Was it the wind that pushed the ball so far even though the shot was poorly timed?
Probably because Sutherland threw a slower ball. Habiba attempted that full throw as she was about to cross the line, but the ball flew off the inner half of the bat and the ball went nowhere after what looked like a nasty hit. She ends up being arrested at the cover point.
Sultana advanced on this dip, full ball on middle and outside, and swung down the leg side, but got an advantage as the ball bounced up and was comfortably caught.
