Harmanpreet’s 126 from 121 balls and Dee’s unbeaten 106 from 86 took India to 328 for 6 after slipping to 19 for 2 and then 149 for 4. Pratika Rawal contributed 61 runs in the first rebound while Harmanpreet and Dee contributed 155 in a record fifth-wicket partnership for India in the women’s ODIs. In the chase, Zimbabwe provided resistance through Modester Mupachikwa and Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano, but their chase gradually lost momentum.
Vaishnavi’s 4 for 39 in only his second ODI and Dee’s three late wickets brought them close to 49, missing their target of 121 runs. The afternoon began with India ong to bat and the Mandhana clan falling for a duck in the opening over. She tried to bowl a short delivery that stayed in the box and offered a catch at third short.
Sibanda struck again in the third over when Shafali Verma pulled firmly towards mid-wicket and Nyasha Gwanzura took a low catch. Despite the jolt, Harmanpreet started positively, taking Sibanda beyond the point and driving Tendai Makusha between cover and midfield. Rawal was more alert, especially off-stump, before gradually extending her range.
She used her bottom hand to scoop Makusha for six, then moved forward to pick Phiri up halfway. These were India’s only six innings. Rawal reached his ninth ODI with a fifty off 57 balls and Harmanpreet followed with a half-century of his own.
Their 124-match partnership had restored India’s innings, but Zimbabwe then scored twice in eight games. Rawal was caught near the deep midwicket boundary off Gwanzura in the 23rd over by Beloved Biza and scored 61 off 67 balls. In the follow-up, Tejal Hasabnis tried to hit Olinder Chare and sent the ball high to middle where running back Michelle Mavunga made an excellent catch.
India were 149 for 4 and Dee immediately put pressure on the spinners, sweeping away deliveries from outside off, pulling everything short and cutting off point whenever width peared. She went from 16 to 55 in 23 balls and reached her half-century in 40 balls. Harmanpreet simply rotated the shot between her boundaries by finding the square angle of the wicket with her wrists and going through the offside position.
Zimbabwe’s previously impressive squad faltered. Ctain Josephine Nkomo dropped Harmanpreet at mid-wicket on 68 and more chances fell later. Harmanpreet reached his eighth ODI hundred off 102 balls in the 41st over, paddling well with Biza for two.
The conditions took their toll on both batsmen and required the attention of the physiotherist in the latter stages. Harmanpreet finally fell in the 47th minute, finishing a shot with a lob. Her 126 contained 15 fours.
Vaishnavi Sharma rocked Zimbabwe in the middle overs, India vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Women’s ODI, Vadodara, October 25, 2026. Dee reached the final with 97 and reached her century by sweeping Makusha for four before also hitting the next delivery to the boundary. She finished unbeaten with 106 points and 15 fours. Her second ODI century came 3,450 days after her first century in 2017, the second longest inter-century in women’s ODIs.
His innings was also the second highest score by a No. 1 batsman. 6 or lower in the format. Zimbabwe’s reply of 329 initially frustrated the Indian bowlers.
Mupachikwa cut Sayali Satghare four times in a row off the first two deliveries and continued to punish the seamers’ length. N Shree Charani dismissed Phiri for six in the ninth over but Mugeri-Tiripano immediately attacked the Indian spinners, taking two boundaries from Dee’s first over and three from Charani in the 13th over. Mupachikwa and Mugeri-Tiripano added 69 for the second wicket to take Zimbabwe to 107 for 1 in the 22nd over.
Both seemed destined for half-centuries, but Satghare bowled Mugeri-Tiripano for 46 off 57 balls in the 23rd over, beating his attempt to fend off off-stump. Mupachikwa continued to occupy the land, although the required rate steadily increased. Vaishnavi, playing in place of the rested Kranti Gaud, dismissed her for 49 off 70 balls in the 28th over.
The left-arm spinner changed her angle, made a sharp cut and watched substitute Harleen Deol dive forward and back to complete the catch. This was Vaishnavi’s first ODI wicket. The breakthrough began an impressive spell for Vaishnavi on a night when his compatriot Charani, who had put up career-best numbers in the opening ODI, was unusually expensive.
Vaishnavi varied his pace and flight to take three more wickets: Biza lbw for 34 in the 38th over after a successful India Test, Mavunga bowled in the 40th and kept Nkomo lbw for 22 in the 42nd over. Dee added two wickets in successive deliveries in the 46th over, hitting Gwanzura lbw and Sibanda caught at slip by Hasabnis. She finished with a three, which equaled her century.
Harmanpreet Kaur congratulates Dee Sharma after her fifty, India vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Women’s ODI, Vadodara, October 25, 2026, inches from the Cow Corner boundary line! It was a full ball in the middle. Rawal fell deep and played the slog sweep.
The connection was solid, but Biza stayed cool on the boundary line and grabbed the ball without nervousness. Rawal comes back for 61 after failing to clear the ropes, oh my – it went straight up and Mandhana is out of here! A little too short on the outside and it seems to stay on the field.
Even a small move away and Mandhana, who tries to win the ball, loses it completely. The ball goes up the underside of the blade and Phiri takes the chance from the short third. India rocked early and Mandhana left dejected!
Nomvelo Sibanda celebrates the wicket of Smriti Mandhana, India vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Women’s ODI, Vadodara, October 25, 2026 Sibanda gets another hit – Shafali hits straight to mid-wicket! Zimbabwe performed well on this tour. Short, angled ball and Shafali pulls it hard.
But the direction is wrong, straight towards Gwazura, who uses his agility to descend very low. She takes a photo with both hands a few inches above the ground and then raises it for a second shot, which she finishes effortlessly standing up. The TV referee takes a look but says it’s clear. Harmanpreet goes straight in and her round comes to an end!
Slotball actually and Harmanpreet has every right to attack her. However, the only problem is that the required connection cannot be established. A bit of point and a comfortable hold for the defender right on the rope.
Dee congratulates his former ctain and India are now five points behind! And caught him halfway as he followed the ball over his shoulder. Chare steals this outside off stump.
Tejal tries to hit it or hit it over the line as the ball turns away. The bat’s face ended up looking into the sky and therefore cut off the shot completely. Zimbabwe have been good receivers throughout the tour and this catch is further proof.
one small mistake and Ghosh too perishes! Low full toss outside off. She’s there to touch, but Ghosh, like Harmanpreet, doesn’t quite get the connection she wants.
From the underside of the blade well into the inside of the fence. India hitting a snag here! Nomvelo Sibanda celebrates the wicket of Smriti Mandhana, India vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Women’s ODI, Vadodara, October 25, 2026 Oh my God – it went straight up and Mandhana is out of here!

First ODI wicket for Vaishnavi! It has fallen back a length from the outside and pears to bounce a bit more. Mupachikwa looks for the break but can’t control it.
Obediently cuts it backwards and Harleen dives forward like a submarine to grab it! You can’t keep Shree Charani away from the wickets! And Phiri dies trying to stage a coup.
Full, looping delivery that lands on the off-stump and Phiri looks to mow a shot down the leg side. But he doesn’t have the height to clear mid-wicket. A nice deep move to help Phiri achieve her breakthrough!
The partnership is finally broken, which boosts Sayali’s confidence enormously! Throws a full ball along a line from the stump. Mugeri-Tiripano offered minimal footwork in his shot attempt.
Hits the inner half of the bat and flattens the rod off the stump! Played in front, but the referee says no! India’s record and it seems to be close!
Lped over one length in the middle and down the leg. He seems to stand up slightly and Biza plays all around, looking for the momentum. Finally he hit the right bicep.
Height could be an issue. No bat involved. The ball tracking pears and he estimates that the ball would have hit the top center and missed the goal.
Vaishnavi has her second ODI wicket and Biza has to go! a huge, weighty scream, and it sounds dead! The back is long in the middle and then straightens wide.
Nkomo plays all around and gets caught right up front. Nkomo investigates it because why not, but this could be a curtain call for them. There is no bat involved and Ball Tracking returns with three reds with the ball hitting middle stump two thirds of the way up.
Vaishnavi has four and Zimbabwe goes down! castles, and Vaishnavi has another one! This is beautiful bowling.
Thrown in at one length in the middle and on the outside, it falls devilishly. Mavunga is far from the ball field and always tries to make a go. The ball reaches so far that it slips past his swinging blade and plunges into the tip.
Vaishnavi has a wonderful evening in Vadodara and Zimbabwe has now lost half of his team! leads in front, and Dee gets on the board too! Arrowed down the middle on one length.
Gwanzura gets stuck in the goal line due to the flatter trajectory and fails to get it down in time. Jump to the front and Gwanzura doesn’t even bother with a review! chipped for extra cover, and India are heading for a series win!
Back of a length outside off. Holds the ground and Dhururu cannot adt in time. Too early in the move and she couldn’t have picked the defender better!
nicked and gone! Outdoor supplementation, and this is available in many diets. Dips on the batsman and Sibanda has to reach out to make contact.
Healthy outer edge and hasabnis cleverly prevents slipping. Dee now on a hat-trick! Looped on one length on the outside.
Makusha seems to go the opposite way, but cuts it off way too much. A tame slice on the outside edge and Harleen does the rest back! The partnership is finally broken, which boosts Sayali’s confidence enormously!
