No reserve day for the BBL opener in Chennai, but the league is considering other times. However, the weather in Chennai could potentially pose a logistical hurdle to the BBL opening in December. The monsoon season ends in Chennai in mid-December and rainy weather warnings have already been sent out in various parts of the city for the onset of monsoon this month. “We’ve definitely followed a lot of advice from locals and are really omistic that we’ll be healthy, but obviously you can’t predict the weather,” Dobson said.
“We won’t have a reserve day. We are working on certain playing conditions that could allow us to extend playing time if necessary. “We really care about a game being played and we believe there are ways to achieve that, but not with a reserve day given the nature of the BBL.
A bit like the IPL, where the show moves on pretty quickly until the next stop.
