White made his 2021 international debut in a T20I against South Africa in Belfast, while his last pearance for Ireland came against Bangladesh in December 2025. White has represented Ireland in three test matches, all played in 2023.
In total, he has won 43 international CS across all formats, including 38 T20I pearances. He finished his international career with 41 wickets and was part of Ireland’s squad for three ICC Men’s T20 World Cups in 2021, 2024 and 2026. Reflecting on his career, White thanked Cricket Ireland for the opportunity to represent his country at the highest level.
He also highlighted his participation in three T20 World Cups and his experience in Test cricket as achievements he would always cherish. “I would like to thank Cricket Ireland for giving me the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream of representing my country and playing cricket at the highest level,” White said recently. “Representing Ireland in three ICC T20 World Cups and playing Test cricket was definitely not on the bingo card, but it is something I will always be incredibly proud of and I will be forever grateful for the experiences and memories I created along the way,” he added.
Gary Wilson reflects on Ben White’s international career Ireland head coach Gary Wilson has shared his thoughts on White’s retirement, acknowledging the star player’s commitment and contribution to the national team. Wilson said he had mixed feelings about the announcement and wished White well, but at the same time acknowledged the effort he had put into achieving his dream of representing Ireland. “On these occasions, I always have mixed feelings about a retirement like Ben’s.
On the one hand, I wish him all the best and congratulate him on a career in which he has invested so much time and effort. But on the other hand, I know first-hand how much he has invested in achieving his dream of playing for Ireland and I am delighted that he has made over 40 CS for his country and will be missing from the squad,” Wilson was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. Wilson also highlighted White’s qualities as a T20 bowler, pointing to his ability to generate bounce and bowl at considerable pace. He added that being selected for three T20 World Cup squads reflected the regard White was held in the Irish team.
“Although he played all formats, Ben will be best remembered for his T20 cricket – his ability to extract bounce and bowl at a fast pace made him a handful.” Making three squads for the T20 World Cup is a testament to the esteem in which he has been held and he should be proud of what he has achieved in his career,” Wilson added.
